Arctic Cattle

Michael took a group of junior high kids to Nome last weekend to play in a basketball tournament. They ended up getting second place in the tournament! The boys were quite excited when they came off the plane. I walked into the airport and the first thing I heart was "We got a trophy!"
While he was there he captured these pictures, which he titled "Arctic Cattle."



Yes, that is a caribou chained in the back of a truck... wow.

Break-up is probably just a few weeks away, when the ice on the ocean will start to break and everything will begin melting. From what we have heard, it's a huge muddy mess. Our temperatures right now are usually -5 to 0 as a low, and 10-15 as a high. The snow has started to melt because of all the sunlight we have now! Our sunrise is at 7:30am and our sunset is at 10:30pm. So, the boxes are definitely back in the bedroom window! The funny part is when we look outside it looks so nice and warm, but as soon as we step out side we get a quick reminder.
