Poker Run

We only had a four-day weekend for Spring Break this year... but we did our best to make the most of it! Our friends organized something called a Poker Run. Basically, we headed out on our snow machines with a group of about 12 friends to five different check points and got a playing card at each place. Each check point was someone's camp, so we would spend time warming up by the stove, eating, and hanging out at each place. Then, we played our hand, as is, at the final checkpoint. The total distance was about 70 miles. The best hand won $200, and the worst hand won $100. Neither of us won, but I was pretty darn close to being the worst hand. Here are some pictures and a link to a video from the day:

We pulled up to the first camp, and the first thing we saw were two moose up on the hill about 50 ft from us. See if you can see one:

And here is everyone watching the moose:

Michael decided to wander off while we were at one of the camps. He ended up getting stuck in a tree out in the woods. We had to send some guys out to look for him, and here is a link to a YouTube video of what they found:

All of the camps that we went to were basically canvas tents on a wooden frame with a wood stove inside. This was the last camp that we went to, which was actually a cabin:

And here is the view that we drove home to (at 10:45pm):

Great time with good friends!
